On Saturday, March 3rd, the Cary Kite Festival took place at Bond Park, offering participants a chance to fly their kites on a perfectly windy day and viewers to gaze at an incredible sight.

It was a perfect day for people to fly their kites as the amount of wind was just right. There were kites of all shapes, colors, and sizes. Some kites were decorated with some of the kids’ favorite characters, such as minions.

The festival had more to offer than just space for kite flying, as it also included concessions, music, and a contest!

There were many competitions that you could win during the festival, including but not limited to:

  • Best tangle
  • Most unique kite
  • Most unflyable kite
  • Kite farthest out

If you didn’t have a kite, there was a kite making class right beforehand where you could decorate your own and make it unique! (And potentially win “Most unique kite!”)

This festival offered lots of fun activities and encouraged kids to get out of the house and get into the outdoors on the beautiful March day.

Next year, if you have some younger siblings or just want to enjoy a beautiful view at the park, make sure to stop by this festival, which comes around in the springtime. Don’t miss out!
