On Friday, the men’s lacrosse team defeated New Hanover in the second round of playoffs and move to 14-4.  The Falcons had a bye in the first round, and had a home field advantage for their first playoff game.  The Falcons defeated the Wildcats 12-7.

Green Hope held the lead for the whole game, and were ahead 7-3 at the half.  Junior Aidan Callahan led the team with 6 goals.  His goal for playoffs is to “survive and advance.”

The Falcons will travel to Middle Creek tonight for the third round of playoffs.  Face off is at 7:00 on the Mustangs field.  The Mustangs have defeated the Falcons in both matchups this year and have a perfect record of 18-0.  In their first game, the Falcons fell to the Mustangs 19-5.  In their second matchup, the Mustangs won 17-6.  The Mustangs average 15.8 points per game, and the Falcons are close behind with an average of 13.2.  The Falcons are hoping to pull an upset and defeat the Mustangs.

Senior Derek Walker is optimistic that the Falcons will take home the dub, “Tonight we’re going to have to play our very best in order to beat them.  We have the talent to take down the stangs.”  Good luck tonight boys!
