On Friday, the Falcons swept the SWAC Tournament.  The girls claimed their title against Holly Springs in a nail biting 50-49 win.  Kelly Fitzgerald led the team with 19 points and six assists, followed by Nia Washington’s double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.  The girls have won five out of the last six SWAC Tournaments.

The boys beat Cary in a thrilling 72-61 win.  This was the first time this season that the boys have defeated the Imps.  Cary led at the half and was making their shots, but the Falcons chipped away at their deficit and scored 43 points during the second half.  Senior Alex Clinkscales contributed 24 points with 15 added by Will Harkins.

Tonight Green Hope will host the first round of playoffs.  The girls will play Clayton at 6:30 and the Falcons are projected to win.  The Clayton girls have an overall record of 14-11 while the Green Hope girls are 24-3.  The boy’s game starts at 8:00 and they are playing Knightdale.  Knightdale has an overall record of 14-11 which can’t compare to Falcons’ record of 22-5.  Come out tonight and support the Falcons in the playoffs and wear white.
