Men’s Lacrosse:  The Falcons absolutely dominated Panther Creek on Saturday afternoon, winning 17-0. Green Hope held an impressive 13-0 halftime lead, and then added four more goals after the break. Senior captain Dana Kelly led the scoring charge with three goals, his second straight game with a hat trick. Junior goalie Conor Ryan protected the net beautifully all night, recording his first shutout of the season. In the two “Fight for 55” meetings this season, the Falcons have outscored the Catamounts a combined 30-1. The Falcons are now 12-3 overall this season and 9-2 in conference play. Green Hope has two pivotal home games this week to end their regular season. The first matchup is tomorrow night against Holly Springs(10-3,7-2), and then a senior night showdown with the #1 ranked team in the state, the 13-1 Apex Cougars, on Friday night.

Women’s Lacrosse: The Lady Falcons fought for their second win against Panther Creek of the season on Saturday securing a 17-10 victory. The game was close at the beginning with Green Hope and Panther Creek tied at 3-3 for most of the first half. With halftime approaching the Falcons rallied together and pulled out a 10-6 lead. As rain began to pour, the team cruised into their ninth win of the season, easily dominating the second half. Alicia Brunetti led the team with an impressive showing out of 6 goals, followed by Rachel Argabright with 4, and Allie Winiecki and Tricia Scott with 3 goals.

Women’s Soccer: Green Hope women’s soccer won in a crucial 2-1 conference victory over Panther Creek on Super Saturday. Bailey Petersen and Kacie Mollin contributed to the scoring charge in the first half, giving the team a demanding 2-0 lead. Just before halftime, Panther Creek came back with a goal of their own. No goals were scored from either side in the second half of the game. The team is now 11-1-3 overall and 10-1-1 in the conference, sitting at first in the conference and as the number four team in the triangle area according to The News and Observer. Their regular season concludes with four conference matchups against Apex, Cary, Middle Creek, and Athens Drive. They play Apex tonight at home.

Softball: The softball team lost Saturday evening, awarding Panther Creek their only varsity win of the day. The Falcons held the game close losing to the Catamounts 4-1. Panther Creek came out strong scoring a quick run during the first inning and continuing their lead for the rest of the game. Katelyn Ellard led the team with 8 strikeouts during the game. The softball team’s record is currently 7-8 for the season.

Baseball: The men’s baseball team edged out PC on Saturday, withstanding a late sixth inning rally from the Catamounts to prevail 6-5. Senior Chris Joyner got the start for the Falcons and earned the win, allowing four earned runs on three hits in five innings pitched. Fellow senior star pitcher, Mitch Spence played the role of closer on Saturday, as he came into to relieve Joyner in the sixth inning and earned the save. The Falcons had a balanced offensive attack on Saturday as five separate batters, senior Drew Hegeman, senior Mitch Spence, junior Sean McQuillan, sophomore Connor Knapp, and freshmen Kohl Abrams each knocked in one RBI. Green Hope is currently locked in a tight race for the SWAC conference title, this victory improves their conference record to 9-3. The Falcons will host rival Apex (9-4 in conference play) in a pivotal game tomorrow night.
