Men’s and Women’s Swimming Place at State Meet

Last night, the Green Hope swim team competed in their final meet of the season. The meet at Triangle Aquatic Center was for all NCHSAA 4A State Championship Meet qualifying schools.

The Green Hope girls finished second behind Hough High School from Charlotte. The girls finished with 222 points placing second in the 200 medley relay, second in the 400 freestyle relay, and third in the 200 freestyle relay.

Junior Kate Moore placed fourth in the 200 individual medley and second 100 backstroke. Sam Medlin finished third in 100 freestyle and second in the 200 freestyle. Senior Jenny Nusbaum won the NCHSAA sportsmanship award.

The Green Hope boys took home third place overall just behind South Mecklenburg and Hough High Schools, both from Charlotte. Senior Henry Hollinshead finished fifth in the 200 individual medley and fourth in the 100 backstroke. Sophomore John Healy placed third in the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly.

Congratulations on a great season to both the boys and girls! Go Falcons!
