Women’s Tennis Concludes Impressive Season

The women’s tennis team’s impressive playoff run came to an end yesterday when they lost to undefeated Panther Creek at home in the 4A East regional finals.

Green Hope also finished off their third round victory over the East Chapel Hill Wildcats yesterday. The Falcons had jumped out to a strong 4-0 lead over the Wildcats before rain forced the conclusion of the match to be postponed to yesterday. In need of just one more victory, in the first to five scoring format, senior captains Karena Zhang and Sara Ackerson delivered with an impressive doubles win. Officially sealing a trip to the semi-finals where the reigning state champs of Panther Creek took care of business.

Green Hope finished the 2015 season with a remarkable record of 20-4. Senior captain Karena Zhang commented “This season was one for the books, I have never been more honored to play for a team before, and I truly think we all played our hearts out. I’m going to really miss Green Hope women’s tennis.”
