On Tuesday night, the 4th of December, the Green Hope Women’s Basketball team took on Broughton at home in a big non-conference match. Coming off of a loss to Holly Springs, the team was able to bounce back. The Lady Falcons were able to top the Capitals 59-43.

Senior Nia Washington has been a crucial member of the team. The UNC-Asheville commit has started the season hot, once again leading the team in points last night. Also on the offensive side the team was helped out with a couple three-pointers from Morgan Vulpis. Against Holly Springs, the team was struggling on defense. Green Hope was able to solve these defensive woes with big games from both Tori Washington and Erica belson, who both suppressed the Broughton offense for the majority of the game.

Green Hope has now improved to 2-2 on the season. Their in-state record is now 2-1, with the only loss coming to Holly Springs. The Lady Falcons are hoping to keep up the momentum in their next game on Friday at Leesville Road. The game begins at 5:00. Make sure to come cheer on your Falcons!
