On Tuesday, May 1st, the Men’s Golf team competed in the 4A Mideast Regional match that took place at Anderson Creek Country Club, in Spring Lake. There were 19 other teams in the regionals, including Panther Creek, Jack Britt, Holly Spring, and Apex Friendship.

Jack Massei took home the individual Regional Championship, shooting a very impressive 72. Both Carter Boulia (78), and Chris Kim (78), posted great scores, and contributed to the team’s success. After the full 18 holes, the Falcons were tied with Apex Friendship, both teams carding 309. The way ties are broken in golf is called a “scorecard playoff”, which is where they count the 5th score of each team. The patriots had a 2 stroke advantage over our 5th golfer, so the Falcons were named Regional Runner-up. The top 3 teams in each region will go on to compete in the State Championship in Pinehurst. The team will be looking to bounce back after a Runner-up finish last year, and take home the ring this year.
