The Women’s basketball team suffered a tough loss Tuesday night in the fourth round of the NCHSAA Playoffs. The Lady Falcons lost to the defending 4A State Champions, Southeast Raleigh. Even though it was a tough way to close out the season, the girls were happy with how the season went as they were Conference Champions, Fight for 55 winners, and ranked fourth in the area.

We return a lot of sophomore and junior talent like Nia Washington, Tori Washington, Sammi Sever, and Morgan Vulpis. Even with this great talent that will bless the team next year, several seniors will be heavily missed including starting point guard Catherine Holbrook and Kaylie Mossier. The women also helped gain crucial points in the Wells Fargo Cup, furthering Green Hope’s lead.

It was an extremely successful season and nothing for the girls to be ashamed of. They made me eat my words in my winter sports predictions article as I heavily underestimated them. I would like to personally honor Kaylie Mossier, Catherine Holbrook, and Riley Wix for their great play this year and their dedication to the Green Hope Basketball program.
