On Saturday, December 9, Green Hope wrestled against Ravenscroft. The match was originally a quad, meaning that there would be four teams competing, but both Franklinton and Hillside decided not to compete, turning the match into a dual. Unfortunately, Green Hope received its third loss of the season at the hands of Ravenscroft.

Sadly, Green Hope was unable to gain its seventh victory of the season, losing to Ravenscroft 52-21. Green Hope only received 2 pins with Cole Furrie pinning his opponent despite wrestling at 113 pounds, a weight class higher than he normally wrestles. Team captain Tyler Couture pinned his opponent in 15 seconds and for the second time in a row ended his match in less than 20 seconds.

While this wasn’t Green Hope’s best showing, they have an opportunity to bounce back in a big way on Wednesday as conference dual meets begin and Green Hope takes on Cary High, one of the best wrestling schools in the area. This dual is followed closely by the Eastern Alamance Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
