Camden Holbrook is a senior committed to App State. His brother, McClean,  plays for UNC Charlotte. Camden is a good student, as well as one of the honorary student section leaders. In Camden’s junior year, he played soccer for Green Hope and won a state championship, as well as, Gatorade player of the year. He now plays on the NCFC academy team, but his Green Hope honors speak for themselves, All-Conference, All-Region, All-State. Camden hopes to have as successful of a college career as his high school one has been.

When did you begin playing soccer?

“When I was 4 years, 3 months, 2 days, 19 minutes, and 53 seconds old.”

What inspired you or pushed you to pursue a sport at the collegiate level?

“I grew up just playing soccer and then I started to like playing the sport. So I wanted to do it as long as I can.”

What schools were you considering before your commitment?”

“App State, Charlotte, and High Point.”

What separated App State from the others?

“App State had a more homie feel, and I liked the mountains. It’s really pretty up there.”

Did sports prevent you from doing anything you would have done if you had not been occupied with sports?

“No, I don’t really think so. I just made time for things I wanted to do.”

Who is the most impactful person you have ever had in your sports life?

“Probably my dad. Whether it was him as a coach or a fan on the sidelines, we would just talk about each game and helping me get better as a player.”

Do you know what you want to major in?

“Either Business or Communications.”

Is a glass half-full or half-empty?

“Half-empty because it is not a full glass.”

About the Writers
Sean Petersen, Staff Writer

Sean Petersen is a senior. He enjoys cuddling with his pet lizard. Sean’s favorite dish is Ziti el forno made by Mrs. Morton. In his free time, he like to take his pet lizard, Battleship, on walks around the neighborhood. Sean is new to the Falcon News Feed staff.

Brandon Morton, Sports Editor

Brandon Morton is a senior at GHHS, working as part of The GH Falcon for his second year now. Seeing that he took it last year and found the class fun, he’s come to take it again. This year he’s looking forward to being the chicken mini mile champion for the second time. “I don’t think anyone in this class can compete this year and I think it’s an easy year. I’ve been working on my quick eating skills.” Outside of school, he runs Varsity XC and Indoor/Outdoor track. His favorite subject is math- he’s a big fan of calculus. His favorite animal is his dog Millie, whom he calls a “goober.” The Fourth of July is his favorite holiday where he gets to spend the day out and really show how patriotic he is. His favorite place in the world is Camp Cheerio, where he spent the summer. His dad inspires him the most, “he works really hard and tries to do the best for my family.”
