The Green Hope women’s tennis team, currently ranked number one in the triangle area, dominated their opponents once again yesterday.  Athens Drive was no match for the plethora of talent that the Falcons possess, falling 9-0 to Green Hope for the second time this season.  The win moved to the girls to 9-0 on the season and 7-0 in conference play.  Green Hope now holds a three game lead on first place in the Tri-6, almost ensuring that the defending 4A state runner-ups will win the conference.

The Falcons continued their historic season, as they have now lost an unprecedented one set in 136 tries.  Here is a run-down of each girls’ individual results from the match last night:

Anna Rico won 6-0, 6-0

Rhindha Sudhini won 6-0, 6-0

Reilly Major won 6-0, 6-0

Nanami Shiibashi won 6-0, 6-0

Alka Tomar won 6-0, 6-0

Amanda Martin won 6-0, 6-0

Cynthia Xiao and Sophia Gray won 8-0

Sarah Liao and Jenna Dick won 8-2

Katelyn Cashion and Elizabeth Penn won 8-0

Because they have lost a combined one set all year, Green Hope has won all 81 of their matches.  What makes this already impressive feat even more spectacular is that they do not have a senior on their roster.  The team has some experience from their run to the state championship a year ago, but one can only imagine how superior the girls will be after another year of experience.  Green Hope has the potential to return to the state championship, but they can not overlook their next opponent in Riverside.  The Wednesday match against Riverside is at home, so come on out and support the Falcons.
